Zimbabwe are 354 runs ahead with the first innings lead v Sri Lanka on the 4th day of 2nd test. It will be interesting to see when Zimbabwe declare the innings & set a total to chase for the Lankans. Zimbabwe were 241 for 7 at the close with Taylor playing a good hand with a aggresive 67 with 8 fours & a six. Sean Williams was 47 not out.

India won the t20 series v New Zealand by winning the 3rd t20 in the super over with Rohit hitting 2 sixes of the last 2 balls, when everything seemed lost with 10 needed of the last 2. Earlier, in India,s innings, Rohit got himself into form with a rollicking innings of 65 of 40 balls with 6 fours & 3 sixes. In the chase of 179, New Zealand were led by a beautiful innings from their captain Williamson, who played with calm assurance, playing his best t20 innings, making 95 of just 48 balls with 8 fours & 6 sixes. Bumrah, who had a rare off day was collared by Williamson, leaking 45 runs of 4 overs. Williamson truly deserved a ton, but got out, sadly. With 9 runs needed of the last over to win, Shami was given the task & his first ball disappeared for a six. Task became easy, but Shami came back, bowling dot balls & with just 1 run needed with scores tied, Shami nailed it by clean bowling Taylor, leading into the super over.

On a day with frequent interruptions on the 2nd day of the 2nd test between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, Zimbabweans were bowled out for 406. Spinner Embuldeniya picking up 4 wickets. Sri Lanka in reply started on the right note with openers Karunaratne & Oshada Fernando putting on 94 runs together in front of a very disciplined Zimbabwean pace bowling from Mumba, Tripano & Nyauchi, which was good to see. Lankans lost both openers wickets for 40 odd runs, which left them at 122 for 2 with Mathews and Mendis at the crease.

England completed a wonderful test series win 3-1 v South Africa by winning the final test by 191 runs. England has come from behind to sting the South Africans in this series. Mark Wood profited immensely from the absence of Archer to pick up 9 wickets & shone with the bat also. Van der Dussen was the only batsman who showed some good resistance against the England bowlers with 98, sadly missing his maiden test ton, but showing his prowess. Nortje, the express pacer has shown he is the find of the series for South Africa.

India by winning the 2nd t20 v New Zealand on a slowish pitch with disciplined bowling and good batting is just one step away from registering their first t20 series win v New Zealand. England in the box seat in the final test v England after taking a massive 217 runs lead in the first innings & currently live 87 for 2 in the 2nd dig, 304 runs ahead. Mathew Wade thrashed 130 not out in the BBL to take Hurricanes to the Eliminator finals. India A lost the odi series v New Zealand A.

England left the South African first innings in absolute tatters on day 2 of the final test at the Bull ring, the Wanderers ground at 88 for 6 with Wood clocking extreme speeds to pick up 3 wickets. Earlier, England who were rocked in the early stages of the 2nd day morning by pacer Nortje recovered magnificently through a breezy partnership for the 10th wicket between Wood & Broad who hit a lot of sixes between them to pivot the English total to the magical 400 runs mark. Stokes escaped a ban with the ICC being a bit liberal by only enforcing a fine on him. Its high time Stokes tries to control himself and not commit any further cases like this, as England always need him to play. Nortje picked up his maiden 5 wicket haul in tests, which was very impressive & he filled up beautifully for the absence of Rabada, serving a one match ban. De Kock 32 not out would have to get the solid company of the all rounders Philander in his swansong test & Pretorious to get South Africa out of jail on the 3rd day of the final test.
