Cricket Happenings New Zealand 138 for 7 on day 2 of 2nd test v England & Sri Lanka tour of NZ

England recovered from 21 for 3 to 438 for 5 declared with Harry Brook 186 & Root 153 not out putting on a 302 runs stand, which is the highest ever partnership in tests v New Zealand. New Zealand on the other hand succumbed from a dreary 21 for 3 to 138 for 7 declared, which showed the dark contrast.

Sri Lanka announced a test squad for New Zealand stocking the team with quickies & going with just a genuine spinner.
